Mr. Gooi Seong Heen

Mr. Gooi Seong Chneh is one of the founders of LGEF which was set up in 2010 with the aim of providing financial assistance to needy students.

A graduate from University of Toronto, Canada, Mr. Gooi achieved his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1975 and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa, Canada in 1980. He is a member of the Professional Engineers Association of Alberta, Canada and was formerly a consultant with Campbell Engineering and Associates, Calgary, Canada for 3 years from 1981 to 1983.

From 1976 until to-date, he has been a director of SKL, a company which owns a controlling stake in CCB and KLR, both are public companies listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

Appointed to the board of CCB in 1995, Mr. Gooi is currently an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (construction operation) of CCB. Mr Gooi was appointed to the board of KLR in 1990 and is currently an Executive Director of KLR. He has extensive experience in construction site management and property development. He has also been responsible for the development and management of oil palm and cocoa estates in Johor, Sabah and Sarawak since 1985. He also sits on the board of several other private companies.

Inspired by the family business and opportunities presented to him during his education journey, Mr. Gooi hopes to channel his abilities to help children gain the same inspiring experience through LGEF.
